What is Sports Physiotherapy?

Sports physiotherapy is the specialised branch of physiotherapy that provides in-depth treatments for sports injuries, from recreational sports all the way to elite performance. At SPI ProHealth, our physiotherapy teams focus on supporting top-level sports training in a multi-training environment be it at the gym, clinic or in competition.

GLOBAL SPORTS TOURNAMENTS/ EVENTS

SPI is fully equipped to aid in any sports tournaments around the world and can also assist in pre-tournament preparation. Supported by experienced sports physiotherapists, our international team specialises in musculoskeletal injuries and sports medicine management.

With the gruelling and high physical demands of world-class sports tours, an appointed team physiotherapist is on-site to ensure that the athletes maintain optimum performance with appropriate recovery. We can assess, treat and/ or manage any acute injuries that may occur during the tournament, in addition to managing ongoing problems and helping to identify the cause of any functional loss.

As a sports physiotherapist, we support quick decision-making with experienced judgements that put the athletes’ health as the first priority. While on the road, the physiotherapist may also help to monitor the athlete’s hydration, nutrition and be responsible for post-game recovery.

PHYSIOTHERAPY CLINICS

Our physiotherapy team in Hong Kong is based in strength-conditioning facility, Pinnacle Performance and our China team is headquartered at Raffles Medical Group, Beijing. Both teams provide general in-house and sports physiotherapy treatments ranging from common injuries for the neck, back pain to rehabilitation of core stability, joint and motor control, improving muscle endurance, strength, flexibility and co-ordination.
